Claxton Elementary School School Supply Drive

 

It’s time for our annual school supply drive for Claxton Elementary School. Please bring supplies you wish to donate the Mission’s Room by August 9th. The school has requested that the following items be provided: standard backpacks without wheels; No. 2 pencils, blue and black pens, highlighters; 24 ct. Crayola crayons, colored pencils; wide-ruled & spiral-bound 3-ring & 1-inch binders; tissues, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer.

Fellowship Speaker Series: Living Our Faith in a Complex World Christian Nationalism: What is it? Why should we care?

 

Come join us for discussion about what is Christian nationalism and how it causes harm in our communities today. We will explore what we mean by Christian nationalism, where it shows up, and why it is problematic. We will also begin exploring what we can do to counter Christian Nationalism when we see it, and what action steps can be taken. Light Refreshments will be served. Christmas in July

“Get out of the summer heat and have some winter like fun with your neighbors!”

 

Children of all ages come join us in the Fellowship Hall for a morning of cool fun. You are invitied to wear your pajamas, enjoy crafts , puppets, winter-themed games, hot cocoa, and some tiger-iffic fun! This is a free event but RSVP’s are requested.

Worship – Personnel, Administration and Stewardship Committees will be leading worship

While Pastor Kathryn is on Sabbatical from May 4 through August 2, clergy and lay leaders in the community will step into the pulpit to reflect on scripture and share their faith. It’s an exciting time to hear some new – and some familiar – voices to lead worship, both in-person and online.

July 26, 2026 – 10am
Worship – the Worship and Music Committee will be leading worship including an old fashioned Hymn Sing

Brunch Buddies (Alicia Riddle Playground and Fellowship Hall)

August Theme is Water Play (no water guns, please)

 

Children up to (and including) 5th grade and their caregivers, come and play together on the FPC playground or, if its raining, burn some energy in the fellowship hall. All can also enjoy a snack during the time together. For more information, please contact the Church Office and ask for Bella Miller, Faith Formation Coordinator.

Worship – Pastor Kathryn is back! 

Pastor Kathryn returns and be preaching. There will a churchwide picinic to welcome her back. More details to come.

Any monies collected in this monthly offering are sent to Salem Presbytery’s “Pennies for Hunger” program, which benefits hunger-related ministries and organizations within the bounds of Salem Presbytery.
