Alicia Riddle

Alicia Riddle was a cherished teacher of Fellowship Day School who died June 2012. Alicia was loved by all and known for her passion for nurturing young minds. Her life was a testament to kindness and generosity, leaving a profound impact on everyone she met. Alicia’s commitment to young children inspired the establishment of the playground in her memory, ensuring her legacy of love and joy continues to thrive.

"alicia's place" - The Alicia Riddle memorial Playground at Fellowship Presbyterian Church

Over the summer of 2017, thanks to the generosity of the many friends and family of Alicia, the Fellowship Day School built Alicia’s Place, a beautiful play and discovery place at the Church. In October 2017, those gathered dedicated the playground with a ribbon cutting by Scott, Katherine and Elizabeth Riddle.

The playground at Fellowship Presbyterian Church stands as a beacon of joy and remembrance, dedicated to the memory of Alicia Riddle. This vibrant space not only provides a safe haven for children to play and explore but also embodies the spirit of community and togetherness that Alicia championed. Located at Fellowship Presbyterian Church, the playground is a testament to the enduring impact of Alicia’s life, fostering connections and nurturing the next generation in a place filled with laughter and love.

The "Alicia's place" memorial Playground Fund

In 2012, the Session of Fellowship Presbyterian Church established a scholarship fund in Alicia’s memory. Through the generosity of Alicia’s family and friends, fundraising efforts and gifts from friends of Fellowship Day School, the scholarship fund provided assistance to families needing tuition assistance.  Since the formal closure of the Fellowship Day School in April 2023, the fund’s work has shifted from helping families with tuition to now, instead, helping families enjoy “Alicia’s Place” for many years to come. The Alicia Riddle Memorial Playground Fund is held separately, and 100% of the gifts to the Fund support the upkeep of “Alicia’s Place”.
